Yes.. July is almost over, but I starting writing this almost 2 weeks ago.. just not enough hours in a day!!!
I know that I am always saying how fast time goes, but seriously last month went faster than usual and it definitely was not due to a lack of activities in our schedule. Here is a summary of what went on with the Morris' Family over the past month and many of them are so exciting that they will definitely get dedicated posts at some point... when I have a moment to breathe :o)
1) I ran my first 5K! After taking over 10 years off from running in early May I started running short runs in the am before work. Well my best friend Steph talked me in to running the Freihoffers 5K for women. I was not properly trained and had yet to even run 3.1 miles... but I did it and finished in 32 minutes. I have since been running more frequently (at 5:30am if anyone cares to join) and I am pretty confident that my next 5K will be much better. I enjoy the morning runs and it is a great way to start the day before everything gets soooo crazy!
2) Kayla's second Dance Recital! She did a great job doing both of her routines. Tap was Waddily Atcha and ballett/jazz was Pop Goes the Weasel. She was so brave to go out on stage at the Palace Theatre and didn't even act the least bit scared this year!!!
3) Kayla turned 5! Can you believe my baby girl is 5??? We had two celebrations this year. A wonderful family party.. which of course was over 20 people (family only!) and then a friend party. We did her friends party combined with her buddy Evan whose birtdhay is one day after hers. The party was at the YMCA and the kids had a blast swimming. It was a Yankees - Red Sox theme ( kayla the yankee fan, evan the red sox), it was sooo cute and such a great time for the kiddos, but boy was I glad I did not have 17 4-5 year olds running wild in my house!!!
4) Kayla graduated from Pre-school and moves on to Kindergarten. They had a wonderful graduation performance at Teddy Bear Day Care and Kayla did a great job singing God Bless America, Grand Old Flag, Take me out to the Ball Game, and Baby Beluga! She really loves to sing! It has been a great two years at Teddy Bear and we are really going to miss them once Kayla starts Kindergarten in September.
5) Vermont Camping!! We had a great camping trip with the Baldwins and special guest Kelly Kral! We rode bikes, hung by the fire, and went to the beach.. plus the girls and Joe got some outlet shopping in :o)
Some of my favorite pics....
Yes.. Joseph loves his bike helmet and wants to wear it everywhere!!!
