So today I turn 31. I thought 30 sounded old, but 31 seems much worse. This morning while driving Kayla to school I realized that it had been 10 years since I turned 21.. what a difference 10 years makes.
How my 31st birthday is going...
Up at 3am to feed Joseph
Up at 5:30am to feed Joseph
Up at 6:45am with Kayla
7:30am Feeding Joseph while screaming at Kayla to get off of us...
8am negotiating with Kayla on why she needs to get dressed and go to school ( so that I can have just a few minutes of peace today on my birthday)
9:05 am... drop Kayla off late
10:30am reflecting on getting old :o)
.... Plans for the rest of the day...
Feed Joseph when he wakes up.. Hopefully take a shower (I didn't get time for one yesterday).. Feed Joseph every 2 hrs until 3:30 then go pick up Kayla.. feed her dinner.. get them both packed up and off to Gymnastics by 6pm... get home by 7:30pm and give them both a bath... hopefully have them sleeping by 8:30pm... WOW I think I will be tired...
What I was doing on my 21st birthday...
Probably went to class in the morning... I say probably since it is also possible that I chose to sleep in.
Maybe did some work during the day, but likely hung out at the House and watched 90210..
6pm.. took a shower and spent way too long doing my hair and getting ready to go out, probably tried on 5 outfits before deciding what to wear (that is if I didn't just wear my jock shirt).
8pm/9pm.. went to Function at Clarkson Rugby... drank way too much beer and punch.. I think (can't remember everything) I played a lot of beirut, both with beer and punch (BAD IDEA).
12am.. went to Duffs.. did lots of shots...
2am .. somehow made it back home with the help of Kelly Kral (Chris wouldn't even deal with me)..
3am.. somehow made it into the basement to turn the power back on in the house since a fuse blew... without falling down the stairs..
3:30am... got very sick and decided to take a shower..
Spent the next 2-3 days recovering and getting sick... slept and missed classes, no big deal.. Turning 21 only happens once.
What a difference. I miss the college days, but wouldn't trade what I have now for anything. Although many days are tough with the kids I love them sooo much and cannot imaging life without them and Chris. I often forget to mention Chris and what a great dad and husband he is. He does so much to help with the kids and it really is a team effort, I know that isn't always the case so I appreciate it. Well gotta go... Joseph is finally up and ready to eat!!

Happy birthday Kim! I know just what you're going through... I was just threatening time-out to Dylan because he was climbing all over me while I tried to feed Chase! It can be so overwhelming - I'm finding that I don't have as much patience as I thought I did! I hope you're able to get a little peace and quiet today and do something fun... maybe have Chris bring home dinner to at least save you that trouble.
Oh, and your 21st birthday was just like mine. Those were the days!!
lol. i know i was off at a swim meet on your 21st, but i DO remember the recovery period :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! (your day sounds kinda like how my 30th bday went) the joys of a newborn :)
